Dobrý den, mám problém, potřebuji ve F8 vypnout detekci monitoru, tz. že po znovazapnuti PC potřebuji, aby mě Fedora 8 nedetekovala zda-li je připojen monitor. Momentálně když není monitor připojen a resetuji PC napíše to hlášku “Spuštění X server (vašeho grafického rozhraní) selhalo. Pravděpodobně není správně nastavený”
Prosím o radu který z balíčku mám odškrtnout, aby mě to nedetekovalo ? Jedná se pro GNOME.

Z te hlasky co pisete se zadne podstatne informace nedaji zjistit. Ty najdes v /var/log/Xorg..log. Tam budede uveden presny duvod proc “no screens found”.
V zasade by se tvuj problem sel vyresit pridanim definice monitoru do konfigurace a parametrem
Option “UseEdidDpi” “false”
Konfigurace by v F8 mela jit nastavit rucne pres system-config-display, parametr pak pridej do sekce monitor v /etc/X11/xorg.conf.
Tento problem tusim nastava pouze u grafik nvidia s prorietarnim ovladacem.

Ahoj, mám úplně stejný problém. Potřebuji provozovat server bez připojeného monitoru, protože je v poměrně nahuštěné serverovně, avšak potřebuji přistupovat k ploše přes VNC, což (pochopitelně) fungovalo do doby, než jsem odpojil monitor a server restartoval. Gnome má spoustu věcí (alespoň podle Fedora návodu) konfigurovatelných pouze přes GUI, což je jediný důvod pro přístup přes GUI.
Přikládám Xorg.0.log, i když vím, že se z něj dozvíte pouze, že není nic připojené na VGA výstup.

Ten důvod používat na údržbu serveru gnome konfigurační nástroje jsem nějak nepobral.

K tomu monitoru - podle me ten problem s Xserverem nastava pouze v pripade, ze nemas v konfiguraci zadny definovany a tudiz si Xserver nedokaze vycucat zadnou pouzitelnou konfiguraci. V momente kdy vytvoris xorg.conf soubor a do nej das potrebne parametry pro “neexistujici” ale rekneme virtualni monitor, plus kdyby to jo neslo, pohledej pouziti parametru noedid resp. noddc, melo by to jit. Pocatecni xorg.conf vygenerujes prikazem “Xorg -configure”.
