Nesetkal jste se nekdo s problemem, ze po nejakem case prace na fedore prestane fungovat sit? at jsem pripojen k internetu a necham si IP pridelit DHCPckem nebo i kdyz jsem spojenej ad-hoc s pevnym IP 192.168.1.1. Jako driver Fedora sama nastavila RLT 8139/8139C/8139C+ tak nevim jestli je to driverama nebo necim jinym. Zadnou chybovou hlasku to nevypise, jen proste vypadne sit a nejde znova aktivovat, je nutno restartovat.
Prosím koukni se, kda jsou těsně po výpadku sítě nějaké zajímavé hlášky na těchto místech:
- dmesg |tail -n 80
- cat /var/log/messages |tail -n 80
Pak se podívej, co hlásí “/sbin/ifconfig eth0”
Zkus restartovat službu “network” (/etc/init.d/network restart).
Znovu sleduj log soubory!!!
Dále prohlídni “/sbin/lsmod” jestli je zaveden modul sítové karty. Případně jej zavěˇd "/sbin/modprobe " a prohlédni log (hlavně dmesg).
Pak prosím napiš výsledky.

tak bohuzel se stalo to, ze ted mi sit nefunguje uz ani po restartu, i kdyz pri startu nahlasi vse ok.

ACPI ASUS problem uz se tu resil staci hledat tu hlasku + s nim spojeny jeste nejaky. Jinak mozna by bylo dobre vypnout selinux pokud uz neni.
Tak ASUS ACPI je vyreseno, dekuju.
selinux jsem snad uspesne vypnul (tim ze jsem pridal selinux=0 do grub.conf), sit hned po restartu nabehla, ale vzapeti opet spadla.
male pekvapko po restartu:
pri bootovani se to sekne pri spousteni sluzeb cups a sendmail, tak nevim jestli tohle mohl zpusobit vypnutej selinux…?
no, tak se mi povedlo nabootovat do textaku a zase zapnout selinux a uz to zase chodi. teda krome te site:/

ten watchdog sa asi da nejako na skusku vypnut …
Jak se to muze seknout pri pousteni dvou sluzeb pri jednom restartu?
Vypnuty selinux by na to nemel mit vliv, spis ta nefunkcni sit, ale i to by nemelo zpusobit seknuti, maximalne SELHALO.
Zkousel si parametr “noacpi” k jadru?
Jak je mozne ze mas natazene oba moduly

Podle mne to jsou disjunktni ovladace - tzn. pouzivat by se mel jeden NEBO druhy ale ne oba.
Zkus jeden nebo druhy hodit do souboru
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
pridej tam radek “blacklist 8139cp” pripadne analogicky pro 8139too.
Jinak fakt je ze podobne problemy existuji i na nekterych kabelovych (cable TV) sitich, kde modem podporuje pouze half-duplex. Pak je potreba pomoci mii-tool nebo ethtool prepnout sitovku do half-duplexu. Jesli je to tento pripad netusim, spis asi ne.
no jednoduse, interaktivni spousteni:) ale faktem je ze cups po nejake dobe najelo, ale sendmail proste ani za 10minut ne
ad watchdog: nj, ale jak…? 
sem zacatecnik, takze co znamena “noacpi” k jadru?
s tema modulama netusim, ale zkusim co radis a napisu co se stalo
napsal jsem postupne oba ovladace do blacklistu a dela to stale. zajimave ale je ze i kdyz je v blacklistu “8139too”, tak na vypisu /etc/lsmod figuruje opet “8139too” a neni zde “8139cp”
tak me jeste napada, nemohl by to delat treba in terni firewall?

To uz je na me moc velka magie, protoze to podle me neni mozne. Pokud se to deje je neco spatne nebo este spatneji ale nedokazu vymyslet co. Pokud napisu cokoli do blacklistu a nemam tam preklep, tak ten modul se nemuze zavest. kdyz tam napises oba najednou, nemela by sitovka vubec fungovat.
Firewallem to urcite nebude (tedy pokud tam neni nejakej HW nForce firewall).
tak uz sem vypozoroval ze vzdycky kdyz vypadne sit tak v dmesg cykli toto:

Hm, tak to nechapu. No nic.
Zkus este do /etc/grub.conf pridat na radek kernelu ktery startujes pridat na konec noapic nebo “acpi=off”.
Bude vypada NEJAK takto:
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.16-1.2080_FC5 ro root=LABEL=/1 rhgb nomtrr acpi=off
Na notebooku ale neni idealni mit vypnute acpi.
Může se jednat i o kolizi přerušení zařízení (IRQ). Koukni se do:
cat /proc/interrupts, zda síˇtovka nesdílí IRQ s jiným zařízením.
Jinak “NETDEV WATCHDOG: eth0: transmit timed out” znamená pouze příliš dlouhou prodlevu při odesílání paketu. Je to velmi obecná chyba. Běhá to pod Windows nebo jiným Linuxem ok?

Zkusil jsem ted nainstalovat SUSE 10 a tady jede vsechno naprosto v pohode. Vzhledem k tomu ze zacinam, nemam odvahu na kompilovani kernelu, asi zatim zustanu u SUSE. Az se trochu naucim ovladat linux, tak zkusim FC znovu. JInak vsem moc dekuji za pomoc.

mam zrejme problem z podobneho soudku. Nainstaloval jsem FC5 na svuj notebook, instalace probehla hladce, bohuzel nejede sit. Sitova karta Realtek 8139.
Obcas mi Network manager zahlasi, ze jsem pripojen k siti, ale neni to pravda. Pri bootovani pripojeni sitovky vzdy selze. Mohu pingnout pouze sebe, jakykoliv jiny pokus skonci “network unreachable”.
Pokusil jsem se taky o blacklistovani 8139cp a 8139too. Nic z toho nepomohlo.
V readme nezkompilovaneho driveru 8139too.c se uvadi:
If the “Install Type”, selected during the Linux install procedure, is “laptop”,
this driver can work normally for CardBus application without any modification.
Otherwise, reinstall Linux and select “Install Type” as “laptop”.
Then this driver can also work.

Kdyz toto provedu a pak se opet pokusim aktivovat eth0, dostanu hlasku od kernelu: Disabling IRQ #18 a k aktivaci nedojde
Kdyz zkusim /proc/interrupts vidim seznam (zrejme IRC) od 0 do 23, ale 18 mezi nimi neni…
A od chvile, kdy jsem provedl postup podle vyse uvedeneho odkazu uz po ifconfig vubec sitovku nevidim…
Nevim co presne jsi podle toho navodu delal a zda to nefunguje ani po restartu, ale to co si udelal je, ze si sitove karte nastavil typ prenosoveho media - tedy 10Mbit ethernet Half Duplex. Toto je velmi casty problem teto sitovky, pokud ti ted nefunguje ifconfig a provedl si “rmmod” tak se ani nedivim, protoze tim si odstranil z kernelu ovladac a musis ho pomoci insmod, resp. modprobe zase zavest…
