Koupil jsem nový NB HP ProBook 4740 s předinstalovanými windows 8. Specifikace zde http://www.alza.cz/hp-probook-4740s-d350209.htm . Do NB jsem nainstaloval také fedoru 18. NB má 4xUSB porty, 2xUSB 2.0, 2xUSB 3.0. Ve windows jsou funkční všechny porty, ve fedoře funguje pouze jeden port USB 2.0, ostatní 3 USB porty ve fedoře nejdou. NB se prodává i s linuxem, tak jsem očekával že v kernelu budou všechny ovladače HW tohoto NB. Lze očekávat, že s novými verzemi kernelu budou funkční všechny USB porty nebo jak to vyřešit aby USB porty fungovaly ?
Z toho co pises neni duvod zrejmy. Obecne by USB3 melo v linux fungovat. Takze se podivej do vypisu

Nechtěl bys to dát do závorek?
Hledal jsem na internetu a našel jsem tohle http://askubuntu.com/questions/208367/usb-3-0-problem-on-hp-probook-6570b-with-ubuntu-12-10 . Sice se jedná o ubuntu a jiné modely NB než mám já, ale je tam psáno že problém vyřešila nová verze kernelu, tak se snad také dočkám.
Co dát do závorek a jak ?
Bude se jednat o zase nejaky intel vymysl, kdy se USB schovavaji pod “integrated rate matching hub”. U tebe je mi ovsem zahadou, ze ani nedojde k pokusu o inicializaci USB3.0 coz je ovladac xhci_hcd. Bohuzel Fedora ho ma zakompilovany v kernelu, takze se neda vyzkouset ani jeho reinicializace.

Prvni usb hub je podle me ale detekovan dokonce jako USB1.0, pak jeden USB2.0 a je nalezeno jedno zrejme interni USB zarizeni a to kamera.
Aktualizaci BIOSu si nahodou nehledal?

BIOS jsem aktualizoval, ale stav se nezměnil stále funguje pouze 1 USB port ze 4.
Jedine co jeste muzes zkusit je kontaktovat support HP, ale moc bych od toho necekal.

Napájení z USB portů funguje-myš svítí ve všech portech ale funkční je jen v jednom.
Tak zkus ten parametr jadra, pripadne zkus prepnout notebooku v biosu do Bios mode misto UEFI pokud to umi - nebudou pak ale fungovat Windows.
Soubor grub.cfg jsem našel v /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/grub.cfg, cestu kterou uvádíš ty tam není.
Přikládám část souboru grub.cfg. Kam mám přidat řádku pci=nomsi ?

BIOS UEFI mode vypnout jde, ale to bych pak musel přeinstalovat i fedoru. Mám jí teď instalovanou v UEFI.
BIOS mode muzes vyzkouset s liveCD/USB, jesli to na to bude mit vliv.
Parametr pridej nakonec radku zacinajiciho linuxefi. Mimochodem, secure boot mas povoleny nebo ne?
Přidání parametru pci=nomsi do souboru grub.cfg nepomohlo.
V BIOSu jsem vypnul secure boot a nastavil BIOS legacy pak jsem zkusil live CD fedory a všechny USB porty fungovaly.
Skoda ze si neporidil vypis lsusb, lspci a dmesg. Mimochodem, ten vypis dmesg co si dal sem neni kompletni. Podle me by tam pak byl videt problem s xhci (routovani preruseni). Otazkou je, kde je zadrhel, ja bych rekl ze v BIOSu, resp. UEFI. Jeste zkus parametr pci=noacpi, ale podle me to zase rozbije jen jine veci.
Dávám sem výpisy pořízené za běhu fedory 18 z live DVD (všechny USB porty funkční)

výpis dmesg je hrozně dlouhý - z informací k formátování textu na fedora fórum jsem nepochopil jak to sem dát v tzv. závorkách tak to sem nedávám. pci=noacpi zkusím a dám vědět. Zatím díky za rady.
Zkusil jsem pci=noacpi na fedoru instalovanou na HDD v UEFI módu a teď fungují 3 USB porty co předtím nefungovali a ten jeden co fungoval nyní nejde

No tak je to tim jak jsem psal - jadro z UEFI nedostane spravne nastaveni prepruseni pro USB radic. Co s tim nevim. V BIOS modu to funguje a pokud vypnes ACPI (tzn. pouzije se jednoducha metoda prirazovani preruseni) tak to samozrejme najde jen neco, protoze pak dojdou preruseni, ci tak neco.
Z dmesg zkus vygrepovat jen veci ohledne xhci
dmesg| grep xhci
ale obavam se, ze se dozvime jen to co vime.
