Fedora na Samsung 300V

Ahoj!

Celkem v pohodě provozuji na svém notebooku Samsung 300V, který jsem koupil v červnu 2012, Fedoru 17. Dneska mě vyděsila zprávička na abclinuxu, že na některých samsungovým noteboocích může dojít vlivem špatných ovladačů k destrukci notebooku.

Bohužel nejsem takový ajťák, abych věděl, co se přesně děje. Rád bych se tedy ujistil: je provozování linuxu na mém notebooku v pohodě? Týká se to jenom Ubuntu, nebo i jiných dister? Mám se bát nabootovat do *buntu LiveCD? Můžu upgradovat na Fedoru 18?

Podle toho, co čtu, se jedná o problém v UEFI a člověk se tomu vyhne, pokud v BIOSu UEFI vypne a používá legacy boot. Ubuntu 12.04 je starší než Fedora 17, takže pokud nemáš problémy s ní, tak by to mělo být v klidu i u F18.

Krom toho je to evidentne HW chyba, ktera se projevuje pouze pri pouziti modulu samsung-laptop, takze jak je tam napsano, pokud se da tento na blacklist tak sice nebudou fungovat nektere speciality pro samsungy, ale zase bude mit clovek klid.

Linus zmergoval do hlavního stromu jádra patch který zmíněný modul zablokuje. Během několika málo dní se nová verze jádra objeví v update fedory. Prozatím zmíněný samsung-modul pro jistotu zakazte. Je smutné že to musí řešit vývojáři jádra. Sice byl dotyčný modul napsán vývojáři (Greg Hartman) jádra, ale dle dispozic vývojářů samsungu které byly špatné a ti se zatím k ničemu nemají, což mě docela překvapuje vzhledem k tomu že firma stojí a padá na mobilech ala android což jest linux. No jsem zvědav jak brzo se probudí.

Prosím, to zakázání se provádí jak? Nějak to nemůžu vygooglit… Mám přidat samsung-module=off do bootovacích parametrů? Nebo to dát na blacklist? Dík.
