Nedari sa mi nastavit na monitore sirokouhle zobrazenie 1680x1050 ani 1440x900. nech xorg.conf nastavujem akokolvek monitor bezi na 1280x1024.

Jsem na tom stejně u F8 / Ati mobility X1400. Vyšel bugfix xorg-xorg-x11-server-Xorg, ale vypadá to, že je to s touto opravou ještě horší než před tím (alespoň v mém případě). Zkoušel jsem všechno možné (downdgradovat xorg-server atd., ale zatím se mi to nepodařilo vyřešit). Nedá se na to déle dívat - defaultní rozlišení na notebooku i na externím LCD mám 1680x1050… :-/

jj downgrade som skusal tiez… nic, chcel by som sa spytat na link na ten bugfix - vyskusam.

Já jsem zatím našel toto:

No high-resolution video modes available

* Recent versions of the fglrx driver (seen with 7.12) seem to have problems with video resolutions higher than 1280 x 1024. The modes of the xorg.conf are simply ignored, and the server starts up e.g. with a resolution 1280 x 1024 (even if this resolution is not defined in xorg.conf). This is particularly a problem on LCD displays.
* This bug documents the problem.
* No known workaround.

na co sluzi kmod? to je najaka uprava originalneho ovladaca od ati?

Hmm… vypada to ze na vetsine monitoru funguji i ty future modes jen je potreba je urcit rucne vcetne modeline + vertrefresh zkusit nastavit na 60.0 - 60.0, pripadne mozna zkusit zrusit pouzivani EDID (jesli to u fglrx jde nevim).

Ano, takze ovladac mate nainstalovany spatne. Fakt zbytecne tu prirucku psat.

K problému s rozlišením:
V mém případě právě fglrx driver nefungoval.
Nicméně právě píšu z rozlišení 1680x1050. Jak jsem psal výš, nové drivery (od Ati) obsahují chybu. Řešením bylo vrátit se zpět. Stáhl jsem proprietální ovladač od Ati, konkrétně verzi ati-driver-installer-8.42.3-x86.x86_64 a ta funguje (alespoň v mém případě správně).

Ještě ověřím, jestli to chodí s poslední verzí xorg-x11-serveru…

Update: Funguje to! Rozlišení 1680x1050:

Rádo se stalo. Já jsem ve svém případě našel řešení (viz níž).

nn prirucku som cital, zial problem s proxy (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=426536) mi nedovoli pouzit livnu priamo, tak som miesto rucneho riesenia zavislosti skusil najprv instalacku ati. Skusim teda stiahnut a nainstalovat livnu rucne.

Ohledně bugu v yumu:
Píšou tam:
yum 3.2.7-2.fc7 worked OK.
Takže možná by stálo za to zkusit downgrade na verzi která funguje
(rpm -U –oldpackage yum 3.2.7-2.fc7) ale chce to vyzkoušet opatrně.

Ohledně ovladače:
Nevím, chce to vyzkoušet (já mám jinou kartu a nevím, jestli to bude stejný problém… :-/)

PS: Jen pro jistotu: Je také dobré si v /etc/yum.conf preventivně zakázat aktualizace pro balíčky ve kterých je bug.
(exclude=nazev_balicku)

Jinak se to celé může po upgrade opakovat… :slight_smile:

Já bych navrhoval spíš tento postup:

  1. downgrade a nastavení yumu (aby fungoval za proxy)
  2. instalaci livna repozitáře včetně GPG klíče
  3. instalaci odpovídajícího ovladače a jaderného modulu buď z livny (viz příručka)
    nebo přímo od Ati. Tady to bude chtít najít verzi bez bugu.
    “ATI Proprietary Linux Driver Version Identifier:8.44.3” má IMHO právě výše uváděnou chybu.
  4. přepnout se do init 3 a v texotvém režimu bych přejmenoval stávající xorg.conf
  5. stále v textovém režimu bych spustil system-config-display
    Pokud bude správný ovaladač, mělo by to jít nastavit
  6. Reboot
  7. Doladit to podle potřeby… :wink:

Podle me staci kdyz sedgar misto balicku 8.443 nainstaluje 8.42.3-4.2.6.23.8_34.fc7 (odstranit 8.443 install 8.42). Jinak ted uz akcelerace funguje OK (podle logu).

No jo, to je asi pravda. Asi to moc komplikuju. Je to asi tím, že si Fedoru bez funkčního yumu neumím představit. Za chvíli bych zjistil, že mi chybí nějaká aplikace atd.

PS: Měl bych návrch k úvaze:
Nestálo by za to dát krátké upozornění na bug v ovladači do příručky?
Lidem jako já by to mohlo ušetřit hodně času.

downgrade yumu aj yumexsu som skusil… nechapem… nejde… inac ten bug v bugzille poslal covex - je to moj pripad…
je pravda ze som po instalacii aktualizoval celu fedoru naraz (vtedy este autentikacia cez proxy isla), ale robil som to po malych skupinach a update prestal fungovat prave po updatenuti skupiny v ktorej bol aj yum aj yumex…

Presny vyznam zpravy neznam, co jsem zatim stihl vypozorovat je to neskodne varovani o tom ze ovladac nepodporuje nekterou kombinaci bitovych barevnych hloubek… Seznam podporovanych zjistite prikazem glxinfo.

Definice slozeni X serveru neobsahuje specifikaci mysi/touchpadu atd. navazuje na prvni varovani.

Nebezi vam acpid (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface event daemon) - proc to nevim. Neni nikterak kriticke, snad jen pro zpracovani nekterych udalosti spravy napajeni by mohlo (suspend, hibernate, dpms).

ovladac fglrx nenasel v xorg.conf konfiguraci podle PCI ID - pouzila se ta ktera tam je nebo vychozi nastaveni.
